Standalone OpenWatcom Tools
I am currently working on getting OpenWatcom's tools working with
Digital Mars C++ to provide
an alternative to the already dated Digital Mars tools.
Download
- owtools (patches against OpenWatcom 1.1.0)
- ow-license.txt (20 kB - Sun, 06 Apr 2003) (Sybase Open Watcom Public License version 1.0)
- dmc.exe (120 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (DMC Frontend with Open Watcom support)
- cvpack.exe (216 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom CV4 Symbolic Debugging Information Compactor)
- dmpobj.exe (68 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom OMF Dump Utility)
- wasm.exe (230 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Assembler)
- wdis.exe (240 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Disassembler)
- wlib.exe (161 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Library Manager)
- wlink.exe (362 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Linker)
- wmake.exe (142 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Make)
- wrc.exe (200 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Windows Resource Compiler)
- wstrip.exe (62 kB - Sun, 09 Nov 2003) (Open Watcom Strip)
- patch.exe (58 kB - Wed, 10 Nov 1999) (see the GNU utilities
for Win32 page for source code and other useful GNU
utilities)
wlink Features (Compared With DMC's OPTLINK)
- support for COFF libraries (including Microsoft's new-style COFF
import libraries)
- can link programs with more than 40 MB static data
Alternative DMC Frontend
- New command line option -TCow to select Open Watcom tools
(linker, ...)
Known Issues
- wlink might report duplicate definitions when explicit template
instantiation is used
