I bought one of these cheap and small chipcard readers (Towitoko CHIPDRIVE micro) on Saturday. As there is not much Linux software available for these devices, I sat down and wrote an XPCOM wrapper around the PC/SC interface. So I am now able to write Python scripts (using PyXPCOM) to access these chipcards.
I have checked in the preliminary source code of the XPCOM wrapper into my subversion repository at http://193.170.119.171/repos/xpcard/.

I have just checked in JabRSS into JabXPCOM's new subversion repository at http://193.170.119.171/repos/jabxpcom/trunk/ (examples/jabrss.py and examples/parserss.py). Basically, it's yet another RSS headline notification client for Jabber. I hope to have JabRSS publically accessible soon - just have to sort out some hosting issues and get some minor issues in the code fixed.

Last weekend I have played around a bit with subversion and installed a server on http://193.170.119.171/repos/. The server doesn't have a DNS entry yet, but it seems to work fine.

I have just released JabXPCOM 0.30. It now includes support for HTTP and Socks v5 proxies and adds preliminary Win32 support. I have also updated it to work with the latest XPCOM version and to use XPCOM's new UTF-8 string type.
