Sun Aug 08 19:19:47 2010 GMT: iPhone 4 Death Grip

Just popped into Apple's new Covent Garden store to have a quick play with the iPhone 4 and iPad. Of course, I had to try the iPhone death grip -- and it really worked: it initially showed 2 bars for the signal strength, but when held in the left hand, it lost the signal and said "no service" (although it still had the in-store Wifi connection). Needless to say, I didn't even think about buying any of these overpriced toys.

Sun Aug 01 19:26:49 2010 GMT: Carnaval del Pueblo 2010

Just been enjoying some Latin American music today at the Carnavel del Pueblo in Burgess Park.

Sat Jul 31 13:01:24 2010 GMT: HE.NET IPv6 Certified: Sage

Just took Hurricane Electric's IPv6 Certification and whizzed through to the Sage level:

HE.NET IPv6 Certified Sage cmeerw

Wed Jul 28 06:04:24 2010 GMT: dns.he.net

Hurricane Electric are running an open beta of their free DNS service for tunnelbroker account holders. I recently signed up fot this, mainly for using it as a secondary DNS service for my IPv6 reverse zones, but I noticed some strange DNS NOTIFY issues. Apparently, when using multiple masters, their DNS servers don't accept NOTIFY requests from any of the registered masters.

Yesterday, I reported this issue and it has been confirmed as a bug. Interestingly, they appear to be running some version of PowerDNS.

Mon Jul 12 20:45:16 2010 GMT: Network Infrastructure Updates

Been updating my network configuration to get my new virtual server properly integrated into my VPN setup. At the same time I have also updated my virtual machine setup on my home laptop to provide IPv6 connectivity to my virtual machines. So far, both NetBSD and FreeBSD were quite straightforward to integrate into my IPv6 infrastructure. Unfortunately, Haiku doesn't support IPv6 yet.
