I have improved (and fixed some bugs in) the reconnect handling code of JabRSS. Furthermore, I have added support for timeoutsockets to ensure that the Web spider won't hang indefinitely any more. Hopefully, these changes will greatly improve the availability of the JabRSS service.

PowerDNS 2.9.5 has been released and includes my Windows port of MTasker to get support for the PDNS recursor on Windows platforms.

I am currently trying to combine asynchronous I/O with fibers to provide a synchronous API to the asynchronous functions. In theory, this should be much more scalable than using the synchronous functions. And in fact I have already run some tests with up to 3500 connections.

Now that the ODP has finally generated an updated RDF dump again, I have extracted the Computers category and added it (that's more than 130,000 links) to my Web site: ODP: Computers @ cmeerw.org. It still needs some polishing, but the interesting thing is that the gdbm database file is just about 10 MB in size.
