Mon Nov 10 11:07:51 2014 GMT: WG21 C++ Urbana Meeting Mini-Report

Concepts Lite again didn't make it to the PDTS stage as it wasn't deemed to be ready by the Core Working Group (after reviewing it for 2 days requiring some major changes to the working draft). The plan is have 2 additional teleconferences and a face-to-face meeting in January to finally get it into shape for a PDTS (proposed draft technical specification).

On the other hand, Transactional Memory was in pretty good state and will be progressed to the PDTS stage.

As the C++ ballot was still in progress during the Rapperswil meeting in June, the list of motions at this meeting was a bit longer than usual because of the backlog from Rapperswil. One of the motions that was shot down was "Range-Based For-Loops, The Next Generation (Revision 1)" as some thought the new syntax could cause confusion.

Although, most motions dealt with adding new features to C++, a few old features will also be removed: trigraphs and auto_ptr, random_shuffle and old <functional> are among them.

On the networking side, things have changed a bit with LEWG starting to look at asio in Rapperswil and continuing at this meeting. "Network Byte Order" was also removed from the Library Fundamentals TS because of name collisions with existing header files.
