So I got my ODROID-C1 up and running and decided to do some tests how well the quad-core ARM CPU actually scales with multiple threads. I decided to use a similar test to what I have done in the past with nginetd, but with updated compiler and libraries of course.
I have run the test on an Intel i7-2600K (4 cores and hyperthreading) and on the ARMv7 ODROID-C1 1.5 GHz quad-core. To make it easier to compare, I have normalised the run-times (as the ODROID was about 10 times slower than the Intel machine). But apart from that, the ODROID scales quite well to the 4 CPU cores:
The x axis shows the number of threads while the y axis shows the normalised run times (btw, I have used 128 socket pairs in this test).
