Went for a lovely walk along the Purbeck coast from Swanage to Wool via East Lulworth on Easter Monday. Pictures are available from my digital photo album and the GPS track data is also available as usual.

After seeing that NetBSD has been ported to the ODROID-C1 I decided to give it a go and was surprised how smooth it all went, except for one thing. NetBSD just wouldn't want to connect to my Beaglebone via USB networking (with g_ether running on the Linux side). After asking on the NetBSD current mailing list I ended up looking at NetBSD's USB driver code, compiling a new kernel and tracking the problem down to this commit with some analysis of what is wrong...

So a few days ago I started looking at logging into my XMPP account from my Firefox OS phone. Well, there is of course Loqui IM which has support for XMPP, but it needs an XMPP WebSocket server to connect to as it's based on strophejs. The main problem with that approach is that while Loqui IM provides a public XMPP WebSocket server, the SSL/TLS connection gets terminated at that server.

Looking around the net, there aren't that many standalone WebSocket servers available and much less WebSocket servers supporting the XMPP sub-protocol. So I have started implementing my own XMPP WebSocket server for this purpose which seems to work quite fine so far. Until today I used stunnel to handle the SSL/TLS part, but I have now just implemented SSL support as well. That part might still be a bit wobbly, but let's see how it goes...
