With the just released jabberd 2.0.0a6 it is now possible to build it with LDAP support on a Debian woody system. Well, in doing so I discovered and reported a bug.

Today the JabRSS bot was down for some time due to a hanging HTTP connection. Under normal circumstances, the timeoutsocket module should take care of this and close the connection. But in this case it was an IPv6 connection which currently isn't supported by timeoutsocket. Fortunately, adding IPv6 support to timeoutsocket is trivial, so the problem should not occur again.

The fun continues. I was probably wrong in assuming that the transition from a "thin" to a "thick" registry was the problem. At least TechSupport @ PIR has told me that that's not the problem, but they have also told me that there shouldn't be any problem at all - this leaves me wondering why a transfer hasn't even been initiated.
