Yesterday, my Web hoster has upgraded PHP to version 5.1. One of the great things of this upgrade is the support for PDO (PHP Data Objects) and SQLite 3. But on the other hand it also horribly broke my internal PhpWiki and my DevCorner.

I just noticed that Google is looking for compiler engineers to work on optimizations and static code analysis. I hope they will get the overall architecture (on the static analysis part) right, which basically means to plug in some scripting language (preferably Python) into the compiler as a new back-end.
In fact, I have been thinking about doing this with the OpenWatcom compiler, but it's definitely quite a big project to get it working. On the other hand it would greatly simplify writing static analysis checks.
