I just updated my Internet Protocol Journal subscription, but I am wondering why you can't login directly, but have to wait for an e-mail and follow a link from that e-mail. Usually, such schemes are used to validate the e-mail address, but in the case of the IPJ, the link in the e-mail message does only include the subscription details you enter on the login page (i.e. your subscription id and your e-mail address, but no additional cookie to check that you really have received the e-mail). So there really is no point in sending the e-mail because if you know the e-mail address and subscription id you can perfectly construct that URL yourself...

Greylisting is not particularly new any more, but I have now implemented a simple greylisting daemon for use with Exim 4. It features a SQLite 3 database backend and can be configured per user/domain.

OpenWatcom 1.5 has been released at the end of April. Unfortunately, this release doesn't contain any visible changes to the C++ compiler (compared to 1.4).

Yesterday I visited Cardiff, the capital of Wales, which can be reached by a one hour train journey from Swindon, see my photo album for some pictures. Weather was reasonably good, although it was a bit cloudy, particularly around noon.
