Weblog RDF feed, Atom feed

[previous] / [up] [overview] [down] / [next]

Thu Dec 05 17:12:06 2002 GMT: Digital Mars C++ Betas

Tue Dec 03 20:01:27 2002 GMT: ELinks 0.4pre21

Tue Dec 03 17:50:49 2002 GMT: Some more RDF parsing trouble

Switching to xmllib had the unexpected (well, reading the docs would have helped, but you know: real hackers don't read docs) sideeffect that xmllib does honour XML namespaces in some way. This caused the parser to fail on some RDF feeds today. Hope it's fixed now, although I will have to clean up the parser a bit...

Tue Dec 03 01:12:22 2002 GMT: Where does SPAM come from?

Of course, looking at the e-mail headers will tell you who has sent the SPAM, but you still don't know how the spammer got the address. Trying to find out more about Web e-mail harvesting bots, I have added an invisible mailto-tag to my contact page that is dynamically generated and contains the IP address and a timestamp of the HTTP request. So I know at least who spidered the page and sold the e-mail address. BTW, although I only put it on a single page, it only took about 2 weeks for the first SPAM mail to arrive...

Tue Dec 03 00:24:45 2002 GMT: JabRSS switched to xmllib

I have now switched JabRSS's RDF/RSS parser to xmllib (from (py)expat). This should fix that nasty undefined entity ref bug (all undefined entity refs will now be silently ignored, but the parser will be able to continue).

Sun Dec 01 23:49:22 2002 GMT: Expat and unknown entities

(Python) expat seems to handle unknown entity refs really badly. And it seems there is no easy workaround (actually, I don't know of any workaround at all) if you want to be a bit more liberal on what XML documents you want to accept. As a result I will have to change the XML parser used by JabXPCOM to another one (maybe xmllib?).

Sun Dec 01 21:34:52 2002 GMT: cmeerw.net DNS changes

I have now setup the primary server on edge.cmeerw.net and added another secondary server via XName (a free DNS hosting service which looks quite promising).

Sat Nov 30 11:47:52 2002 GMT: ELinks 0.4pre20 package

Fri Nov 29 23:14:22 2002 GMT: New Debian package for elinks

Sat Nov 23 14:27:28 2002 GMT: ELinks package for Debian woody

Fri Nov 22 23:37:39 2002 GMT: ELinks' scripting support

Wed Nov 20 19:35:04 2002 GMT: umount bug
