I have just returned from a 2-week trip to the U.S. (just ahead of hurricane Irene hitting New York). Some pictures are now available for Bloomington, IN (where I attended the C++ Standards Committee Meeting) and there are some more pictures from a few days holiday from New York: part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6 and part 7.

I have just been to Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway. I was not too impressed by the story, but the special effects and high-flying stunts were quite nice. And, of course, I managed to get a discounted rush ticket (as regular prices just seem to be ridiculous)...

My mobile broadband ISP (shame on them) thinks it's funny to throttle UDP traffic in the evening - which does affect my use of OpenVPN (over UDP). So what I have done now (as ICMP traffic appears to be unaffected) is hacked together a small utility to bridge between UDP and ICMP (using some configurable ICMP type). So far it works quite well, although it's probably still a bit rough around the edges.
