I learned today that there are still some issues with the Linux kernel's IA32 emulation on AMD64. At least some ioctls (e.g. LVM2's device-mapper) don't work from 32-bit userland on a 64-bit kernel (mostly due to simple alignment issues).

I have implemented a simple XML-RPC server for Drupal's distributed authentication to authenticate against an LDAP server. Unlike Drupal's ldap_integration module it only provides authentication and no real LDAP integration, but on the other hand it doesn't require any changes to the Drupal core, because it's implemented as a stand-alone XML-RPC service.
