If you are using gphoto2 to download your pictures from your camera, you will probably notice that it consumes huge amounts of memory if you have lots of pictures to download. But as I have learned today from this bug report, it's not a memory leak, but a cache - I just don't understand the reason for caching when you only want to download all pictures to your harddisk (i.e. invoking "gphoto2 -P").

Today I noticed that the available disk space on my Lycos VDS account is constantly decreasing, leaving me with an unusable server with only about 20 MB disk space left (although according to "du -skx /" about 400 MB should still be available).
I have reported the issue on their forum - actually, I believe it's somehow related to the file locking issue I reported earlier (but which seems to have been ignored lately).
Oh, and the jed/screen issue also remains to be fixed.
To sum it up, I don't think their VDS servers are already production quality (although I have to admit that the average LAMP user will most likely not run into these kind of issues).

The JabRSS migration seems to be working quite well, more than 400 accounts have already been migrated to the new JabRSS instance (jabrss@cmeerw.net) in the past 30 hours.
BTW, jabrss@cmeerw.net is now running on edge.cmeerw.net and jabrss@jabber.at has been moved to the Lycos VDS beta test server.
