Moving your complete user database to LDAP can get quite tricky (at least if you want to get it right). I have updated my Quick-Start Guide to LDAP with solutions to some of the obstacles on the long and stony way to full LDAP support.

I have just published a preliminary version of my Quick-Start Guide to LDAP. LDAP, of course, is the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol which has great potentials for user administration in heterogeneous network environments. You know, NIS(+) is only widely known in the Unix world whereas Windows Domains are a Windows/Microsoft concept.

Last week I have posted a patch for CIPE Win32 to support some kind of "media status". Yesterday I tried to compile the CIPE service with Digital Mars C++ but run into a strange exception handling bug.
