This week I was able to set up native IPv6 connectivity for edge.cmeerw.net as IP-Projects have added support for native IPv6. There are still some minor issues such as reverse DNS not working yet, which means that I am still using the HE tunnelled IPv6 addresses as well for some services. Of course, this means that I have to do some tricky policy based routing to get packets routed to the correct uplink (based on the source address).

Just updated to the Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.4 LTS) beta today. The update went quite well, except that the Gossip instant messenger package has disappeared. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any reasonable lightweight instant messenger client available. The only alternatives (empathy or pidgin) are quite heavyweight and would pull in most of GNOME - something I would want to avoid as I am running XFCE. As a workaround, I have just re-compiled Gossip for lucid lynx which appears to work fine for now...

Oracle has just released Berkeley DB 11gR2 (11.2.5.0.21) which includes a new SQLite interface. This sounds like great news for SQLite as it adds a new storage backend with better concurrency capabilities (but comes with a more restrictive Open Source license).
